Who We Are

Husika Trust is a community-rooted organization in Kiambu County, Kenya, advancing civic participation, gender equality, and the rights of women and girls. We empower women and girls through advocacy, training, storytelling, and partnerships, while engaging men, boys, and communities to challenge harmful norms and drive inclusive change.

Our Purpose

We exist to deconstruct the systemic barriers facing women and girls in rural and peri-urban settings including access to Sexual reproductive health education and services, high rates of gender -based violence (GBV), being excluded in governance and harmful social norms. Through organizing, training and advocacy we provide support for local leadership and grassroots solutions aimed at improving their wellbeing and promoting gender justice.

Our Ultimate Vision

Ultimately, we envision a just, inclusive, and equitable society where women and girls are safe, heard, and able to lead, and where their rights are respected within families, communities, institutions, and policies. Our work supports both national development objectives and global commitments, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality), 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
